Jonathan Kendrick is the co-founder and chairman of the ROK Group of Companies, a global network of services and brands including mobile phones and beverages.

As a serial entrepreneur, Jonathan began his business career through securing the European rights to then-unknown Yokohama tires brand (which, having successfully brought to market, he sold back to Yokohama).

Recognizing, early on, the enormous potential of the mobile industry, Jonathan founded ROK to create the technology to simplify the process of pre-paid vouchers for mobile phones. Jonathan sold ROK’s electronic voucher technology to a leading mobile industry player in 2002 whilst retaining the ROK brand – which he re-launched with co-founder, fellow entrepreneur, John Paul DeJoria, founder of Paul Mitchell hair care and Patron Tequila (amongst others).

In 2018, Jonathan and John-Paul created ROKiT, a people-first telecoms company selling a selection of value-driven mobile handsets, paired with vital-life services such as telemedicine and roadside assistance as well as smart phones featuring glasses-free 3D screens.

2018 also saw the introduction of ROKiT Cities, a wide area mesh networking WiFi XL service to help connect some of the poorest communities around the world, starting with 27 of the largest cities in India.

In addition, Jonathan has a portfolio of drinks brands within ROK Group. These include ABK Beer brewed in the 700-year-old Bavarian brewery and a small-batch, hand crafted artisan spirits brand called Bogart’s Spirits, created in partnership with the Humphrey Bogart estate, and Bandero a premium 100% blue agave tequila.

Jonathan also has a record label, comic book business, natural spring water company and multiple investments in games companies, crypto currency and emerging technology.

John Paul DeJoria's inspirational success story exemplifies the American Dream.

After high school and service with honours in the U.S. Navy, John Paul did whatever it took to make ends meet, from selling encyclopaedias to working as a janitor.

In 1980, with just $700, he teamed up with his friend Paul Mitchell to launch John Paul Mitchell Systems which grew to become the world's largest privately-owned hair care company.

John Paul's success continued with the launch of numerous other highly successful businesses including Patron Tequila, which grew to become the world's biggest premium tequila brand.

As a businessman, environmentalist and philanthropist, John Paul has donated his time, money and expertise to helping others. John Paul was honoured with the Sustainability Award at Fashion Group International's Night of Stars event and was also inducted as a lifetime member into the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. In 2010, he founded Grow Appalachia, a non-profit initiative that teaches families in need how to grow, prepare and preserve organic fruits and vegetables in a region with little access to fresh, nutritious food. John Paul was a featured panel member on ABC's hit television show Shark Tank, where he served as a mentor and potential investor for aspiring entrepreneurs.

John Paul is on the Board of Directors of the Solar Electric Light Fund (SELF) and a member of the Council of Advisors of Global Green USA, the United States affiliate of Green Grass USA. He is also on the Board of Trustees of Waterkeepers, dedicated to protect the waterways of the world from polluters.

He is also active with helping the homeless, as well as Military Veterans, find employment.
